Auroras Obscured and imagined

Auroras were forecast tonight but clouds obscured. Ever the optimist, I went down to the lake and sat on the dock, listened to the waves lapping onshore until my eyes adjusted to the dark.

Large dark clouds surrounded a dim patch of light at the horizon where clouds were thinner, framing it and even reflecting some light on the water. Auroras appeared only in my imagination, but the soft dark light over the lake was mystical by itself.

Wishing for a sketchbook, my phone camera could not adjust to the dark -- I remembered my sketching apps on the Note 9 and did a quick sketch at the end of the dock, using my fingers.

Back at the cabin a few edits to reveal the imagined auroras hidden behind the clouds, and a sound track of the lake, produced a video memory. Not sure if I can add it to this blog, but will try.
